Michel Maus - Lawyer


Michel holds a master of Laws (1994) and an additional master in Tax Law (1995). He has a PhD (2005) on the limits of tax audit.  
He is a member of the Bar since 1994. He is one of the founders of Bloom Law Firm.
Besides, Michel is also a professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Brussels, where he teaches introduction to tax law, individual taxation, inheritance tax and registration duties, tax procedure and criminal tax law.  
Michel is a specialist in tax law and tax fraud. He handles cases over a wide array of tax matters and criminal tax matters.
Michel is the author of various publications in tax law, such as “De grenzen van de fiscale controle”, “Fiscale sanctionering”, “Inleiding tot de personenbelasting”, “Fiscale Procedure” and “Fiscaal Recht. Basisbegrippen”, as well as more than 100 articles published in tax journals.
Moreover, Michel has published three books for the general public, "Onterf de fiscus", “Iedereen doet het. Belastingontduiking in België.” and “Tax me if you can. Hoe legaal belastingen ontwijken”.

Michel is regularly invited to speak at conferences on a broad range of Belgian tax issues. He also writes columns in newspapers and magazines such as De Tijd, Trends, De Morgen and DeRedactie.
He is recommended as an expert in tax law by Legal 500 (2017).
